Videos: auditions & submissions

Friday Open Classes and Open Weekend auditions

Access to Friday Open Classes and Open Weekends is via video audition only. This is to make sure dancers are all at a level where everyone can get the most out of the class. Please follow these steps to submit your video audition:

Set Up

  • Choose a well-lit space. Natural light works best, but if that’s not possible, use bright indoor lighting.

  • Make sure you have enough space to move freely without cutting off parts of your movement.

Camera Position

  • Use a tripod or place your camera/phone on a stable surface to keep the video steady.

  • Position the camera so your entire body is visible throughout your performance.

Introduction

  • Begin the video by clearly stating: Your name and your age

Audition content

  • Perform a selection of barre work and centre work, no longer than 10 minutes.

Dress

  • Wear fitted dancewear that allows your movements and alignment to be clearly seen.

  • Hair should be neatly styled and away from your face.

Upload your video

  • Upload your video to a Google Drive folder or as a private YouTube link.

  • Make sure the file is named appropriately (e.g., "FirstName_LastName_MBCAudition").

  • Check that sharing settings allow the recipient to view the video.

Email link

  • Ensure your video meets all the above guidelines before submitting.

  • Email medhiballetcoaching@gmail.com with the subject: Friday Open Class audition. Include the video link, dancer’s name, and contact information in your email.

Video submissions - for Medhi’s feedback

Medhi is available to provide feedback on your filmed variations. Please follow these steps to submitting a video for feedback - the better quality the video is, the better he’ll be able to see and feed back on your variation.
